My first task was to create a branding identity for the app. After several weeks of ideation, I landed on a bold, blocky typeface with a subtle musical motif. Watch to the right to see my process. Explore my sketches below.
As the team brainstormed ideas, I would mock up UI ideas for different features in Figma. Flip through a few below.

My first concept was the home page, featuring songs and albums sorted by positive, negative, and genre tags recommended based on inputted user preferences
HOME

Boostra's music player would feature buttons identifying themes in the music, as well as options on the bottom to sort by family members.
MUSIC PLAYER

The colored buttons at the bottom of the interface allow users to clear (green) or restrict (red) any song for their children.
SORTING

Located below the song's tags, the Aura feature brings up a detailed description of the song's subject matter, allowing the user to analyze deeper themes.
AURA

Recently, after researching our problem further, we decided to change directions to a streaming companion with analysis and statistics for users and their families, featuring a sleek liquid glass design.

Mark and I continue meeting a few days a week alongside my studies. As of now we are working on creating a customer base to prove our concept and hopefully achieve funding. You can help support our progress and see the most current updates at boostramusic.com

Boostra is a family-focused music app that I am helping a mentor of mine develop. For this project, I have been playing multiple roles: designing the app's branding and UI, as well as brainstorming features and UX insights. While still in early stages, this startup looks to have a beta released in early 2026.
