Hailing from Sioux Falls, SD, David Bomhoff has always had a nontraditional way of looking at things. While he excelled across subjects in his K12 education, none of the subjects really spoke to him that much, but he instead was inspired by media. Once nearing the end of his high school tenure, he decided to make use of Sioux Falls’ Career & Technical Education Center, where students from high schools around the area had a chance to hone in on skills that they could apply in their university studies and furthermore in a career. Feeling drawn towards film & art, he took the Media Arts courses, where he had his first run-in with Graphic Design. As he finished high school, he became more drawn to graphic design, and enrolled in the College of Design at the University of Minnesota in 2022. There he gained skills spanning across the Adobe Suite, Figma, and other design software, while also becoming educated on design principles, color, and printing processes. While his main focus was Graphic Design in this time, he discovered he had an affinity for UX and designing user interfaces, prompting him to pursue a UX Minor along with his Graphic Design BFA. Graduating in 2026, David looks to bring his skills to an ever-changing design scene at a most crucial point in design innovation.
